jogging

I went for a run. It was nice. Refreshing.
I stopped for a short "twilight" before I went home.

A glimpse of daylight

Sunday, November 18, 2012

Obviously there has been rather few post from my part recently. It's a combination of starting to have a life and the fact that it's dark most of the time - especially the time when I'm not at work. Here comes the advantage of not yet having my driving license. Since I have to travel to the neighboring municipality in order to take driving lessons, I had an opportunity to enjoy some day light and take a few shots from the bus.

On my way to work

Monday, October 29, 2012

I got up early in a mission to get to work by eight, taking advantage of the turning back of the clock. Far from unexpected, I did not complete this mission. I do in fact have a tendency to spend time well if I have it available. However, having plenty of time, I managed to notice the incredible weather and as a consequence I grabbed my camera to take a few pictures on my way to work.

Well back home I came over Washington Post's experiment to see if people notice beauty on their way to work. Out of 1,100 people walking by the famous violinist Joshua Bell only 6 people stops for a short moment to pay attention to him. With my little morning walk in mind - and my documentation of it - I feel quite content with myself. I managed to notice a little bit of beauty today.

Puddle

Wednesday, October 17, 2012

I think I will make a series of puddle posts... Here is a real beauty I saw the other day.

a hurricane went through my kitchen

Again I have made a meal with the inspiration of a special friend (and a little advice from my mom). I am proud of the result. These are my left overs:

It was a lot of it. It was a lot of it everywhere!
I am perhaps even more proud of the fact that I cleaned up the whole mess right after eating. I'm exhausted...

Cruising around

Sunday, October 14, 2012

In connection with my new job I went to the neighboring municipality to get some good advice. I took a few pictures from the bus, with my new job phone. Yeah, I got a job phone... Soon I will have my own office too! Anyway, here are a few glimpses from my adventure.

For lunch: salmon, pesto, pasta. Tasty.

Undervalued beauty?

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

Colorful leafs and plants is a beloved focus of attention during autumn. Not without reason, of course. However, I want to make an undervalued beauty rice to attention: The Puddle!

I appreciate...

Monday, October 8, 2012

I appreciate good friends and good food. This post is a dedication to a dear friend who has fed me with delicious meals. You know who you are and what this is:

It was a huge success! Thank you MLS! <3
Med litt kjøttdeig og noen kjøttkaker :)

Sunday sunshine...

Sunday, October 7, 2012

I borrowed my house owner's bicycle and decided to see a little more of the surroundings. Since I brought my camera, I didn't get far - too many stops to take pictures!

Bicycle adventure

Saturday, October 6, 2012

I have acquired a new means of transportation. My legs are now replaced by my legs in cooperation with pedals and wheels. I used it to get around while investigating the town's mercantile center. It went smoothly until some of my newly purchased items flew out of the basket in an unforeseen abrupt movement from the bike. For a brief moment I was indignant since I felt that it was absolutely uncalled for, but we have moved on accepting the fact that we might need some time to get to know each other a little better in order to communicate on a satisfactory level.

Most (adult) people here have additional means of transportation.

I had my first painful reaction to the fact that all my friends are far far away from me. The good news is that I'm allowed to have pets. The other good news is that there are several thousand people here so there is a substantial chance of improvement in the no-friends-problematics. Where there is life, there is hope.

Overload of optimism?

Monday, October 1, 2012

I had a great first day at my new (and first full time relevant) job and I am really looking forward to dive into all the different tasks and challenges that awaits. While walking home I got many ideas and my ambitions elevated into unknown heights. Why aim low if you don't have any idea about how far you can reach? I was so full of optimism and enthusiasm that I even made a great meal without so much as a sigh. Normally cooking is a loathed thing for me to do, but not today. Today anything was possible. My sighs were turned into moans of pleasure.

So this is what I did. I boiled up a bit of water. Filled it chopped up pieces of these voluptuous things:

The ingredient pictures are all stolen from somewhere on the www. Sue me!

And out of it came this:

Voilà! A microscopic step for mankind (if any step at all?), but an immense step for me...
(Yeah, I know, I got issues)
